Northfield prepares for 16th Annual Winter Walk Celebration
The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce has begun spreading the word locally and out of town to let folks know that one of southern Minnesota's favorite winter holiday events, Winter Walk, is getting closer to coming alive next Thursday, December 11th.
A favorite Northfield celebration and a huge draw for the town, Winter Walk will once again be featuring horse drawn carriage rides, choir and musical entertainment, holiday photos with the James gang, reindeer sleigh rides, and a visit by everyone's favorite snow man, Frosty!
Banners have already gone up and posters have been distributed to historic downtown merchants. Media outside the area have already picked up on the event, an example of which can be accessed by the following Star Tribune story: "In Dakota County, quaint alternatives to frenetic holiday shopping" | Star Tribune
If any one is looking for Winter Walk posters, copies of the program detailing all of the events entertainment and special features, bag stuffers to go into your customers purchases to remind them our celebration is coming, please contact the Chamber office today at 645 5604 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Winter Walk begins at 5 pm sharp on December 11th with a brief welcome and address by Mayor Dana Graham and then a countdown to the official lighting of our Christmas Tree. The streets will be closed at 2 pm that day.
A direct link to our Entertainment program highlighting what our merchants and businesses are offering that special day can be accessed directly by going to "Winter Walk 2014" under our events page on this website.
Special thanks to all the volunteers who make this celebration so special. We at the Chamber could simply NOT do it without you.
